Gulkand belongs to the kind of ingredients that change the character of a dish. Made from Damask rose petals cured slowly in the sun with sugar, its soft texture and expressive floral aroma make it equally at home in chilled milk, yoghurt, traditional sweets, or dark chocolate.

01 — Gulkand & Fresh Bread

Spread onto warm toast, fresh bread, or a soft bun with butter, malai, or cream cheese for a rich, fragrant bite.

02 — Gulkand & Milk

Stirred into chilled milk for a simple floral drink. Serve with crushed ice, pistachios, or a touch of cardamom.

03 — Gulkand & Lassi

Stir into plain or lightly sweetened yoghurt lassi. The natural tang of yoghurt provides the contrast rose needs.

04 — Gulkand & Kulfi

Fold into a simple kulfi mixture or spoon over pistachio kulfi. Dense creaminess gives rose a rich backdrop.

05 — Traditional Mithai

Use as a floral center filling or thin layer in peda, barfi, sandesh, rasmalai, or mawa-based sweets.

06 — Gulkand & Chocolate

Layer inside dark chocolate truffles, ganache, or tarts. Bitterness gives floral sweetness somewhere to go.

A Map of Culinary Pairings

Creamy

Milk, yoghurt, malai, kulfi, and cream soften sweetness and carry the rose beautifully.

Rich

Dark chocolate, khoya, nuts, and butter give its floral character depth.

Fresh

Strawberries, citrus, and pomegranate bring bright acidity and contrast.

Spiced

Cardamom, saffron, and pistachio naturally complement its Indian character.

Simple

Warm bread, good butter, and a single spoonful of Gulkand are enough.

Sun, Rose & Time

From Kannauj to your table, traditional food preservation is not about forcing an ingredient to become something else. It is about giving fresh Damask rose petals and sunlight enough time to become themselves.
